5 Styles Ladies Loungewear for Winter

Cozy & Stylish Loungewear & Sleepwear

I don’t know about you but with this cold winter weather, we have been having.

I am looking for ways to stay warm, stylish, and cozy at home.  If you are too then read below for five styles of ladies’ loungewear for winter to stay stylish and warm.

 1.  CLASSIC NOTCHED COLLAR FLANNEL PAJAMA SET

A traditional pajama set consists of a shirt and trouser combination used to sleep in.  According to Encyclopedia.com, the word pajama comes from the Hindi “pae jama” or “pai jama,” meaning leg clothing, and its usage dates back to the Ottoman Empire. Alternate spellings include: paejamas, paijamas, pyjamas, and the abbreviated pj’s. Pajamas were traditionally loose drawers or trousers tied at the waist with a drawstring or cord, and they were worn by both sexes in India, Iran, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

According to a few websites on the history of pajamas, it was Coco Chanel who introduced androgynous fashion during the 1920’s.  Which helped to popularize the wearing of pajamas by women as ready-to-wear.

Fast forward to today and you can find so many choices in color, prints, styles, and fabrics.  From knitted t-shirt style tops with flannel shorts.  To the classic button-down shirt with a notched collar and draw-string pants.

Furthermore, if flannel isn’t your cup of tea.  You can find pajamas in cotton, bamboo, linen, silk, and satin.

If you are located in the Edmonton area a great boutique to check out is Cloud Nine pajamas.

Fourthly, when you think winter do you think of a dress?  Likely not, after a long day and a hot bath you may change your mind.

4.  LONG-SLEEVED HOODED DRESS

A recent trend in sleepwear or loungewear that has come to my attention is a long-sleeved dress to relax in for bed or prior to.

I’ve noticed styles that come knee-length, long sleeves with a classic v-neck.  Along with, hooded styles that come with a front patch pocket to keep your hands cozy and warm.

Furthermore, you can find these types of loungewear or sleepwear in chenille, fleece and many other types of fabric to keep you warm and cozy.

Last but certainly not least is the plush robe.

5.  PLUSH ROBE

Who doesn’t love feeling all cozy and warm in a plush robe wrapped around you?

There are different types of robes, fabrics, and styles.  Therefore, if you are in a more northern climate you may choose a classic robe with a shawl collar or hooded robe to keep you warm.

Obviously, you may desire to choose a robe made out of more plush fabrics that are soft to the touch and comfy for lounging.  Some examples may be sherpa, fleece, velour, and terry cloth.
