DIY PLANTER
Do you have an old container in your home that needs to be given a little DIY love? If so, I have an idea to share for a planter you can use in your home.
The Supplies you are going to need are:
- container for your plant
- elastics
- spray paint in the colors you choose – I choose black and gold as I love that combination
- clear coat finish in spray paint
- painting cloth’s and covers to use where ever you are painting your project
Let’s get started!
This container was from a previous Christmas gift. As you can see the red paint started to come off. So I decided to spruce this baby up! I loved the shape of the container and wanted to repurpose it. So I can use it and love it every day!
The first step was to give a good base coat of Rustoleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint
Once you feel good about your base color and it’s dried completely for at least a day. Take a bunch of elastics and put them around your container in whatever design you feel will give you the look you desire. Remember where the elastics go is where you are going to see the base color through on your container. You can put the elastics close together or on top of each other. The choice is really yours.
Once you are happy with where your elastics are placed then you are going to spray paint your planter the second color you have chosen. And once that layer of paint is dry you are going to going to finish it off with a clear coat protective spray.
Here is the final look at the project.
